Thanks to Simon Zebo and his Twitter account we got to see that Peter O’Mahony is taking promotion in his stride.
While we all rejoiced at the good news yesterday that 1) Rory Best was going on the Lions tour and that 2) Dylan Hartley wasn’t the Gatland rejig required a bit of switching for the Irish team too.
In case you had forgotten, the Irish team set off tomorrow for the US for their summer tour and the Ulster hooker was to be the team captain. As he is now headed Down Under rather than out west, Les Kiss needed a new captain and he turned to Munster’s Peter O’Mahony, a fine choice I think we can all agree.
But we don’t know if our new captain will be too chuffed with his provincial and Irish team-mate Simon Zebo, who tweeted this pic this morning as the two men headed to Dublin to meet with the squad.
Add in the sarcastic hashtag that Zebo attached #kingofcraic and we expect O’Mahony to force the winger to run a few extra laps when they land Stateside.
