God dammit Robbie, get your sh*t together.
Robbie Keane was the hero of the hour for LA Galaxy last night as he scored a dramatic extra time winner to claim the MLS Cup Final against the New England Revolution.
However, despite being quite the prolific goalscorer, Robbie’s boot designer clearly isn’t much of a vexillologist (that’s somebody who studies flags… yeah, that’s right, we know how to use Google too).
Keane posted an image of the supposed Irish flag-inscribed boots on his Facebook page.. but with one small mistake. The flag on the boots belonged to the Ivory Coast rather than the Emerald Isle.
The mix-up is a simple yet, still fairly amusing error, but we do hope that Robbie isn’t thinking about invoking an old FIFA rule and changing his allegiance any time soon.
*JOE shakes fist menacingly*
It must be said that the Ivory Coast flag did work a treat though as Robbie summoned his inner Didier Drogba to snatch the win for LA Galaxy.
