Novak Djokovic has always come across as a bit of a joker and he lived up that reputation at the Paris Masters today.
The Serbian walked onto court for his match with Sam Querrey wearing a Darth Vader mask, which was either to mark yesterday’s announcement that Disney are to take over the Star Wars franchise, or in a far likelier scenario, because it’s Halloween today.

Djokovic left the mask on until taking his seat beside the umpire – to leave it on during the match would be just taking the piss – and raised his arms to the crowd before taking it off and getting down to business.

It’s not the first time that the soon to be world number one has worn a mask on court before, as last year he donned one that made him look like a cross between the Joker and Gene Simmons from Kiss. Check out the video here to judge for yourself.
The last time we checked, Djokovic was comfortable in the second set having won the first one 6-0, so the wearing of the mask beforehand obviously had no ill-effects on his game, despite the rather obvious drawback that he was, in fact, playing with a lightsaber.
