He will sit on the bench for the game with Italy this weekend, but new England No 8 Billy Vunipola’s team-mates will be more similar in size than his Under 11 team-mates were.
If you haven’t heard of Billy Vunipola yet, you are about to. The 20-year-old has been starring for Wasps and he should line out against Leinster in the Amlin once the Six Nations is out of the way.
On Sunday he will be on the bench while his older brother Mako, a prop, may join him. At 6’4” and about 20 stone, he is, as they say, a big unit.
And it seems that the man of Tongan origin, who was born in Australia but who moved to England over a decade ago, has always been a big fella.
Wasps tweeted this picture this morning, which they claim is Vunipola hanging out with his U11 team-mates. We pity and 10-year-old who had to tackle that.
