Eric Elwood will bid farewell to Connacht tonight and the province have paid him a fitting tribute… by supplying fans with Elwood masks to wear throughout the meeting with Glasgow at the Sportsground.

Elwood has been involved both as a player and a coach with the province for the last 24 years and above anyone else, is the one man that comes to mind when you think of Connacht rugby such has been his commitment to the cause for the last quarter of a century.

Along with Adrian Flavin and friend of the site Johnny O’Connor, who are both set to retire after tonight’s game against Glasgow, Elwood will bid farewell to Connacht fans at the Sportsground in what will be a hugely emotional night for all involved.

In a fitting tribute to the outgoing boss, plenty of Eric Elwoods will be visible throughout the Galway venue tonight as fans going to the game were supplied with masks of a smiling Elwood to wear and to hold on to as a reminder of all he’s done for the Westerners over the years.
