Given the form Ulster are in, tomorrow evening’s clash against Northampton at Ravenhill promises to be a great occasion for everyone present. Apart from the ballboys that is.
While Ulster are making great strides on the pitch this season, they’ve also begun to make great strides off it, having begun a redevelopment of Ravenhill that will cost nearly €19 million and will turn the old ground into a state of the art facility with an increased capacity of 18,000.
There’ll be nobody watching from behind one of the goals tomorrow evening, however, unless they’re prepared to stand on a big mound of dirt or on one of the pieces of heavy machinery currently filling the space.

All the ballboys will surely be hoping for an Ulster victory, but some of them will no doubt be praying that Paddy Jackson comes up short with a few kicks into this particular end, because it ain’t going to be pretty trying to find and return a ball in that mess.
