Irish soccer fans have been warned to keep their eyes in their head and not ogle the stunning Polish girls during Euro 2012.

The warning has come from town of Torún, which lies between Poznan and Gdansk, where Ireland are set to play all three of their group matches. The locals obviously expect a wave of unruly Irish fans this summer, so they’ve set up a website to school us all before we get there.

The website, Toruntips.com recommends that Irish fans should: ‘Respect our Polish girls. Polish girls are world-renowned for being naturally very beautiful.’

The advice quickly turns into a warning: ‘But they do expect to be respected as well. It’s still common here for men to act the gentlemen and open the door for the lady. God forbid if you walked through the door first!!!’

With eyeing up the Polish lovelies out of the question what can the boys in green actually do when out foreign in Poland? Well, they can drink, but whatever you do don’t mix them, or they’ll be very, very angry.

‘OK back home on a typical binge-drinking night out you may pile back the beers, followed by a few shots of the strongest spirit you can find…all washed down with a wide array of alco-pops,’ the advice observes pretty patronisingly – even if it’s true.

They stress the drinking etiquette is different there: ‘Here in Poland…one stern warning. DO NOT MIX your drinks! The beer is that little bit stronger here…and the vodka can be lethal. Trust me you will have one raging hangover the next day if you do!’

What are the Poles thinking? Of course we’re going to stare at the beautiful Polish girls and mix our drinks.

Sure, isn’t it the Euros? We don’t get there that often.
