It’s always an interesting game when Manchester City face their feeder club, Arsenal.
It’s familiar territory for both sides, with Arsenal once again vying for that fourth placed “trophy” while City have bigger fish to fry as the race for the actual title heats up.
It would take a brave man to back a repeat of last year’s 6-3 result in favour of City. However, both teams respective league positions suggest the Citizens still have a march on their London rivals.
The return to fitness of Mesut Ozil and Theo Walcott should give the Gunners a boost, but they are still without Mathieu Debuchy, Jack Wilshere, Mikel Arteta, Danny Welbeck and the perennially injured Abou Diaby.
City on the other hand look to have a clean bill of health with only Yaya Toure and the new signing Wilfried Bony missing due to the African Cup of Nations.
So we’re backing City to come out on top once more. We also reckon there will be goals, as the last seven league games between these two sides has seen 28 goals scored.
With nine penalties between them this season, there is a decent chance there will be a spot kick today. We fancy Sergio Aguero to put it away and this to be the first goal of the game.
Our prediction is 3-1 to Manchester City with Aguero getting the first. This pays at 30/1.
