Rampant Dublin romp to National League title with victory over Derry at Croke Park

It was all too easy for Jim Gavin's men at Headquarters on Sunday afternoon.

Dublin secured the National League Division 1 title with an easy 3-19 to 1-10 victory over Derry at Croke Park on Sunday.

Bernard Brogan, Kevin McManamon and Diarmuid Connolly scored the goals for Gavin’s side, with Brogan’s effort in particular the pick of the bunch.

It could have been so different for the Oak Leaf county as Cailean O’Boyle fisted into Stephen Cluxton’s net in the 4th minute.

However, that was as good as it would get for Brian McIver’s side as Dublin dominated every blade of grass on the pitch and dealt with any threat coming from the Derry forward line.

Derry trailed 0-13 to 1-3 at the break but Dublin were only getting started, and Brogan’s powerful drive past Thomas Mallon made it procession to the final whistle for the victors.
