REPORTS: The chances of Mario Götze joining Liverpool have been given a big boost

Paul Moore

Wunderbar for ‘Pool fans.

Since the arrival of Jürgen Klopp at Anfield, it seems that every single player that he has managed during his tenure at Borussia Dortmund has been linked with a move to Liverpool.

Despite moving to Merseyside, it’s safe to say that the ‘Pool manager has been keeping a close eye on the Bundesliga, and all of those players that must miss his hugs and infectious laughter.

One player that’s in need of a hug right now is Bayern Munich’s World Cup winner Mario Götze because the former Dortmund star hasn’t exactly been a favourite of Pep Guardiola’s since moving to the Allianz Arena.

Götze might have been hoping for a fresh start under the incoming Bayern coach Carlo Ancelotti, but Focus are reporting that the Italian has told the playmaker that he’s not part of his plans for next season.

The signing of Renato Sanches by the German champions has made competition for a starting spot in Bayern’s team even harder and Götze looks like he’s on the move.

According to the report, Ancelotti doesn’t see Götze having a bigger role in his setup and they’re looking for a €20m fee.

Klopp will obviously know all about Götze’s talents having managed him at Dortmund – he even publicly defended him after his decision to join Bayern was leaked – but Liverpool will face competition for his signature.

Juventus, Borussia Dortmund and Arsenal are all interested.
