Ricky Hatton has today confirmed he’s making a comeback

At 33 years of age he will be the same biblical age as Christ when he died, but the question remains will the Mancunian be crucified upon his return to ring?

The fight will take place on November 24th in Manchester with the opponent still to be decided pending him getting a licence from the British Boxing Board of Control after passing a medical.

Hatton had started back training in recent months following well-publicised problems with drugs and alcohol, since then he has lost three stone in weight.

The last time we saw Hatton in a ring he was getting his ass handed to him by Manny Pacquiao back in 2009:

Possible opponents that are being mentioned for the Man City-supporting two-weight world champion include Lovemore N’dou, Paulie Malignaggi and down the road a possible money-spinning Battle of Britain against Amir Khan.

The likelihood is that Hatton might go for an easier opponent to ease him back into it.

Rocky Balboa made a few comebacks in films, but the reality is that boxing comebacks don’t often end well.
