The person responsible for Sale Sharks social media presence probably regrets referring to the team’s fans as ‘absolute f******* on Facebook.

With so much social media output these days, it is no surprise that every now and then the odd problem crops up. We’ve seen it happen here in Ireland and now English rugby team Sale Sharks have a similar problem.

The Sharks went down 62-0 to Toulon at the weekend in the Heineken Cup, continuing a woeful run of form for the team this season. Understandably, the fans were not too chuffed and took to the team’s Facebook page to vent a little.

According to the Telegraph, one disgruntled fan said on Facebook that the team “should spend less time blogging and tweeting and more time coaching”.

That elicited this response from Holleh Nowrouz, who runs the club’s social media obligations.

“[We are] not the same members of staff who coach the team. You absolute f*******.”

The fans were not best pleased, with one commenting: “So not only are we negative now we are “absolute f***wits” according to one member of Sale Sharks staff.”
