Everton right-winger-cum-right-back Seamus Coleman has been ruled out of the Republic of Ireland’s next qualifying match.

The 22-year-old will also miss the friendly contest with Uruguay after failing to recover from an ankle injury.

Sean St Ledger is also a major doubt and missed training with a knee problem.

The team that took place in today’s training session was: Keiren Westwood, Kevin Foley, Richard Dunne, Darren O’Dea, Kevin Kilbane, Damien Duff, Darron Gibson, Aiden McGeady and Robbie Keane.

Duff is a slight doubt but should be fit and ready to play despite having Achilles problems.

James McCarthy is very unlikely to start, but Trapattoni has promised he will get a run-out at some stage.
