You know when you use the rest down the snooker club and it makes contact with half the balls on the table? It can happen the pros too.
The quiet world of snooker doesn’t throw up too many funnies but Ireland’s Mark Allen did make us laugh yesterday with this bit of equipment failure.
In the process of beating Mark Davis 6-2 at the Masters yesterday, Allen was faced with a very tricky long pot. Utilising the extra long rest and cue, and having to balance on one foot, the Antrim man had a go but in his attempt to avoid the white hitting the rest he dragged the equipment right into the pack of reds, conceding a foul. And he missed the pot.
At least he had a good laugh about it and went on to win the game with ease.
