The verdict of the Disciplinary Commission is in and Munster’s Ronan O’Gara will only miss one week for kicking Edinburgh’s Sean Cox last week.
As we watched Ronan O’Gara launch a petulant kick at Edinburgh’s Sean Cox last week we feared that he may miss at least some of Ireland’s Six Nations campaign.
Instead the lads at the ERC have been very lenient to the Munster out-half and he has only received a one-week ban. It does rule him out of Munster’s vital final Pool 1 clash with Racing Metro at the weekend but no more.
While O’Gara’s kick was nowhere near as serious as a head butt or an eye gouge, we thought he might get a bit longer on the sidelines for his indiscretion.
Good news for all concerned then.
