Ireland got a fairly tough draw for the European Championships in Polkraine but we have some clips of past action to put a pep in your step and give you some hope.
Italy are the one we have most reason to be happy with. Not only does it mean Trap gets to face his own country but we have played them recently and beaten them, 2-0 in June, and in the 2010 World Cup qualifiers we played them twice and drew twice.
Since then they have gotten worse and we are surely a better team.
All we need is a little bit of this magic and we are flying.
Spain will be tough, they are world and European champions after all. But this classic win in 1989, courtesy of a Michel own goal, should warm the heart.
Our opening game is against Croatia. We played them in August in a pretty dull friendly but in six meetings they have only won once, and that was in Zagreb in 1999. One more bit of encouragement for you. This guy is their manager.
Wouldn’t catch Trap up to that sort of stuff. Who does he think he is, Andy Reid?
Now, don’t you feel better about the draw?
