We reckon the Reds skipper is angling for a new contract…
Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard says he wants to continue playing football after the end of this season whether that’s with his beloved Reds or not.
Gerrard’s contract runs out at the end of the current campaign and there’s been little indication so far that the Merseyside club will offer him a new deal.
Speaking to the Telegraph, Gerrard says “I won’t be retiring this summer. I will play beyond this season. We will have to wait and see if that’s at Liverpool or somewhere else. That’s Liverpool’s decision.”
A lot of pundits and analysts says that the midfielder isn’t up to the demands of top level Premier League football anymore, it will be interesting to see what Brendan Rodgers and the cheque writers at Anfield think about that.
