We managed three out of four last weekend, so let’s see if wecan go one better with our selections to get us quids-in come Monday morning. This one could turn a tenner into €1,449.
Dundalk v Shamrock Rovers – Rovers to win @ 5/6
Riding on the crest of a wave after reaching the Europa League group stages, Shamrock Rovers can do the business away to Dundalk on Saturday. They need to up the ante on Derry City at the top of the table – both sides are on 54 points but Rovers have a game in hand. But Rovers have plenty of incentives to win – they conceded five on one of their trips to Oriel Park last year.
Tipp v Kilkenny – Richie Hogan to score a goal at any time @ 7/4
Tipperary have only conceded two goals in the Championship thus far, but there’s value in siding with Hogan to carry his eye for the onion bag into the final. His brace against Waterford in the semi-final showed a man with an appetite and the confidence to go for it when the opportunity presents itself.
Betfred Sprint Cup at Haydock – Delegator to win @ 9/1
The Godolphin runner will need to rekindle his York form in May to fend off his rivals in this Group 1 but a return to 6f will suit and Frankie Dettori is on board as the pair try to make amends for an unlucky-in-running fifth in the July Cup. He has plenty to do – he’s never won a Group 1, for a start – but he could be worth chancing at tasty odds.
Scotland v Czech Republic – Czech Republic to win @ 15/8
We look to the Euro 2012 fixture list this weekend as international duty means we have a break from Premier League football. In Group I, Scotland find themselves five points adrift of second-placed Czech Republic, albeit with a game in hand. The Scots have won just one of their four games to date, and that was courtesy of a 97th minute winner against Liechtenstein. Right, they can and will raise their game for this one but at almost 2/1, the Czechs are too good a price to ignore.
