A safer bet this week and we believe these three teams won’t let us down.
Last week a combination of Andy Murray’s blisters and whatever malady struck Jermain Defoe combined to scuttle our treble.
We return to more familiar ground this week and with a bonanza of sport at our disposal, we’re genuinely spoiled for choice. With Ireland/Wales to tight to call, we entrust our punt on the fates of Mayo, Manchester United and the San Francisco 49ers.
This treble should be availabe at around 8/1.
Mayo to beat Kerry, 7/4
The return of the Allianz Football League sees a very fine slab of games up for decision. Saturday night’s double header in Croker is tempting but the odds on the big game of Sunday’s slate is even more appealing.
We’re not quite sure why Mayo are so generously priced at home. They were the second best team in the country last year and we expect James Horan to field a strong side. Kerry looked good in the McGrath Cup, but we expect Mayo to be a fairly major step up.
Manchester United to beat Fulham, 8/13
A week ago, United pummelled Fulham 4-1 at Old Trafford. Since then Dimi Berbatov has gotten injured and Wayne Rooney has found his scoring boots again. Add in the always dangerous RVP, and a few new faces who will be trying to fit in for the home side, and we expect Fergie’s team to walk away with all three points here fairly easily.
The San Francisco 49ers (-3.5) to beat the Baltimore Ravens, 20/23
We go into much more detail in our Super Bowl preview here but we think the 49ers are a better team than the Ravens no matter what way you look at this game. We think the 49ers, who have never lost a Super Bowl, could win big but we are sticking to the standard handicap, just to be sure.
