The Premier League is back and we couldn’t be any more excited here in JOE. We look at some of the best bets for the opening weekend.
The top four from last season, Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal all kick off their campaigns this weekend against Newcastle, Southampton, Burnley and Crystal Palace respectively and for all four to open their accounts with a win you can get an accumulator of just under 4/1 with Ladbrokes, which looks appealing to us.
What about the new boys? Burnley face the unenviable task of taking on Chelsea, Leicester City kick off against much fancied Everton whereas QPR look to have the best chance with an opening fixture at home to Hull City. In fact, for QPR to start with a win, you can get odds of 7/5.
Louis van Gaal’s reign as new Manchester United manager starts the season with the early kick-off at home to Swansea and they are priced at 4/11 to win. Wayne Rooney has been in fine form during pre-season and will be boosted knowing he is now the official club captain. He is priced at 7/2 to be first scorer.
Another accumulator that catches our eye is the one featuring wins for Stoke, Everton, Sunderland and Spurs. This accumulator has odds of just over 30/1 and without a shadow of doubt, represents the best value for money this weekend.
