The Oireachtas has come to a decision on the petition to put Conor McGregor’s face on the €1 coin

Maybe after he beats Rafael dos Anjos?

A petition to have Conor McGregor honoured by emblazoning his likeness on the €1 coin was scheduled to be discussed by the Oireachtas today.

Unfortunately, the petition didn’t even make it to the stage of a parliamentary debate, as the chairman of the committee was unable to make contact with Patrick O’Leary, who submitted the petition. The petition was deemed to be inadmissible.

Conor McGregor hyped up the bid on his Twitter account earlier, sharing our design for the McGregor coin, but alas, it is not yet to be for The Notorious.

Give him a few more fights and he’ll probably have a statue on O’Connell Street.
