The three players you need in your Fantasy Football team this week

Sh*t or get off the pot time.

J-League

It was a pretty poor showing in the J-League this week, with no team in the top five managing to register a score in excess of 45 points.

As a result, Ciaran Tracey’s Bacuna Mata-ta have claimed the outright lead, five points ahead of Brendan Nohilly’s Odds are against me!, who have leapfrogged Allan Johnson’s Comeback Kids into second place.

Only seven points separate Johnson’s side from Tremendous Tom Mulholland’s The Turbo Terrific in fourth, with Mark Anderson’s Aidan Carroll is 38 not yet out of the running; they’re 29 points off the lead in fifth place.

2) Odds are against me! – Brendan Nohilly: 2,231 points

3) Comeback Kids – Allan Johnson: 2,228 points

4) The Turbo Terrific – Tremendous Tom Mulholland: 2,221 points

5) Aidan Carroll is 38 – Mark Anderson: 2,207 points

Gameweek 37

It’s not quite as big as the monster double gameweek of a few weeks’ back but with eight teams in action twice, Gameweek 37 is going to be the deciding factor as far as this season’s Fantasy Football standings are concerned.

Of those eight teams, five will have something to play for as the season draws to a close with Manchester United, West Ham and Liverpool all chasing European places and Sunderland and Norwich fighting for their lives at the bottom end of the table.

Elsewhere, the standout tie of the weekend is Arsenal’s trip to Manchester City on Sunday, with the Gunners now in with an outside chance of finishing second despite many of their fans calling for the head of their manager, Arsene Wenger.

Newcastle could inflict further misery on Aston Villa while boosting their own survival prospects and there’s going to be a party at the King Power on Saturday when Leicester City captain Wes Morgan lifts the Premier League trophy following one of the most incredible triumphs in sporting history.

This week’s picks

Safe bet: Eden Hazard (£10.8 million). Last season’s Player of the Year has left it late to make an impact in this campaign, but he’s turned on the style in recent weeks with three goals and 24 points in just 135 minutes of football.

It’s worrying for Ireland for the Euros, but good news for Fantasy Football managers with the Belgian in their side.

Dark horse: Jermain Defoe (£5.8 million). If the Black Cats stay up, then Defoe’s goals will have been a big factor in their survival. His tally is a very impressive; 14 for the season so far and four of those have come in the last seven league games.

Captain’s choice: Dimitri Payet (£8.5 million). The Frenchman has not been as productive in recent weeks as he was earlier in the season, but has still chipped in with two goals and four assists in his last seven games.

With two games to play this week, he should be a guaranteed selection in every manager’s team.

Potential to use chips

If you have any left, then by all means get rid of them now.
