J-League

There’s a new leader at the top of the J-League this week as an excellent 82 points from Allan Johnson’s Comeback Kids was enough to see him catapult into first place.

Ciaran Tracey’s Bacuna Mata-ta are just three points further back in second with Darren McCann’s Dazzleros hot on their heels six points back in third place.

Crabby Joe’s Spleef Queens are a further four points adrift in fourth place while last week’s leader, Pairic Sheehan, is just about hanging on to top-five status.

Gameweek 10

City and United go head to head in the Manchester derby and Arsenal host Everton at the Emirates so you would imagine that those three sides won’t be winning with the same degree of comfort that they did last time out.

That said, Arsenal are in such a good run of form that they look capable of going to town on any opposition and though Arsene Wenger is threatening to rest him, there’s no player in as rich a vein of form as Alexis Sanchez at the moment.

Unlike last week, no one game appears to offer rich pickings from a Fantasy Football perspective, though it will be interesting to see if Jürgen Klopp can finally get the wheels in motion for Liverpool in his first league game in charge at Anfield against a Southampton side in decent form.

This week’s picks

Safe bet: Mesut Ozil (£8.5 million): Alexis Sanchez is stealing the headlines right now, but the German midfielder has collected a goal, four assists and 30 points in his last three games alone.

Dark horse: Georginio Wijnaldum (£6.9 million): After his four goals against Norwich, the Dutchman is bound to be flying ahead of the Tyne-Wear derby, but even before that he had grabbed a goal and an assist in his previous two league games.

Captain’s choice: Jamie Vardy (£7.0 million): We keep waiting for a dip in form from the highest scoring striker in Fantasy Football but there’s no sign of it coming just yet.

Going into this week’s clash with Crystal Palace at home, Vardy has a quite astonishing eight goals and 54 points in his last six games.
