In this week’s maul, Johnny, Rob and Conor look forward to the upcoming Six Nations, discuss Ireland’s prospects of winning the tournament and step into Declan Kidney’s shoes for this weekend’s clash with Italy.

Johnny has returned from New York, but this week it’s Malcolm that’s missing in action as rumours abound that the supposed conflict between the two has yet to be resolved.

There’s still plenty to talk about in Big Mal’s absence, however, as Ireland embark on what looks like one of the toughest Six Nations campaigns in years.

The lads discuss Ireland’s prospects of winning the competition and ponder over who might make Declan Kidney’s starting XV for this weekend’s clash against Italy.

Warren Gatland has been shooting his mouth off once again, this time about England hooker Dylan Hartley, which leads to a discussion about whether the loud, confrontational approach of Gatland or the deadpan approach of the likes of Andy Robinson or Declan Kidney is preferable in a head coach.

The lads also look forward to the weekend’s other Six Nations clashes; Wales against England in Cardiff and France v Scotland in Paris.
