In this week’s maul, Rob, Johnny and Malcolm dissect Ireland’s patchy victory over Scotland, why we are giving away so many penalties and Malcolm’s ongoing battle with the Residents’ Association.
The lads begin this week by expressing their sympathy with the victims of the earthquake in Christchurch before delving into what was a somewhat unimpressive victory over Scotland at Murrayfield on Sunday.
Unsurprisingly, the number of penalties Ireland are giving away is a hot topic of debate and who better to talk about it than an openside flanker (Johnny) and the man who was once the third highest ranked player in terms of conceding penalties in the English Premiership (Malcolm).
The lads pay tribute to Ronan O’Gara’s outstanding performance at out-half and also discuss what Leinster duo Eoin Reddan and Sean O’Brien can bring to the table.
After 17 solid minutes of serious rugby discussion, the lads briefly chat about Malcolm’s relationship with the Residents’ Association after he politely slammed the door in their faces during last week’s podcast and finish by comparing the current England team to the 2003 version and the other games in the Six Nations this weekend.
