Munster and Ireland legend Mick Galwey joins the boys this week to talk about Ireland’s performances in the Six Nations so far and to look forward to Saturday’s clash with Wales.
We were privileged enough to talk to Mick Galwey a couple of weeks back, and he was kind enough to join us on the Weekly Maul this week to offer his thoughts on Ireland’s displays in the Six Nations so far and how he thinks Ireland will fare against Wales this weekend.
Mick talks about how different the breakdown is these days compared to his time and having played with Ronan O’Gara in the red of Munster for many a year, Mick talks about ROG’s resurgence of late and the battle with Jonathan Sexton for the Irish number ten jersey.
Malcolm made a return to action for the Leinster A’s at the weekend and Johnny received an (in his mind anyway) undeserved yellow card in Connacht’s Magners League game against Treviso and after the lads get those experiences off their chests, they get down to business and talk about the Wales game this weekend.
Possible changes to the Ireland side ahead of what, given the styles of the teams involved, a cracking encounter are discussed, while with his participation alongside the likes of Mick Galwey, Shane Byrne and others in the Ireland v England Legends game next Friday confirmed, Malcolm doesn’t pass up on the chance to indulge in a little name-dropping.
