There was a hugely positive reaction to ‘The Toughest Trade’ on TV3 last night

A fascinating watch

Conor Heneghan

Hanging out in Miami’s South Beach didn’t look all that tough for Jackie Tyrrell, mind.

The worlds of GAA and professional sport combined last night in ‘The Toughest Trade’, a fascinating documentary made to coincide with AIB’s #TheToughest campaign which sought to find out how those used to life in professional sport would cope in the GAA and vice versa.

Aaron Kernan headed off to Sunderland while former England international David Bentley took his place at Crossmaglen Rangers.

Kilkenny hurler Jackie Tyrrell, meanwhile, got to sample the world of professional baseball at the Miami Marlins, while All-Star baseball player Brian Schneider changed his bat for a hurley with some help from Tipperary legend Brendan Cummins.

It really was a riveting, entertaining and amusing watch and if you haven’t seen it yet, we suggest you have a look on the TV3 player here.

Those who did watch it, including a large number of current high-profile GAA players, certainly seemed to enjoy it.
