Tipperary hurling star Noel McGrath to undergo treatment for testicular cancer

Tipperary hurler Noel McGrath will undergo surgery for testicular cancer this Friday, Tipperary GAA confirmed in a statement this morning.

The statement included well wishes from the Tipperary management and the teammates of the 24-year old two-time All-Star and former Young Hurler of the Year and requested that McGrath’s privacy be respected at this time.

The Tipperary GAA statement in full reads as follows:

“Noel McGrath will undergo surgery for testicular cancer on Friday 17th April.

“The Tipperary senior hurling squad, senior hurling management, Tipperary County Board and all Tipperary supporters wish Noel well during this time and look forward to welcoming him back in the Tipperary colours in due course.

“We ask everyone to respect the privacy of Noel and his family at this time and in the coming weeks.”
Our thoughts are with Noel and his family at this time.”

We wish Noel the very best with his recovery and look forward to seeing him back on the pitch soon.
