Munster scrum half Tomas O’Leary has returned to the Irish camp ahead of the Six Nations clash with Wales on Sunday week.

O’Leary started the opening Six Nations games against Italy and France, but missed out on the scrappy win over Scotland in Murrayfield with a back injury.

His place in the first XV was taken by Leinster’s Eoin Reddan, who produced an assured display alongside Ronan O’Gara at half-back and marked the occasion with his first international try.

O’Leary is making good progress in his recovery from the injury and has joined up with the 15 players that started against the Scots for a two-day training camp at the Carton House hotel in Maynooth.

O’Leary’s injury will be monitored by the Irish medical staff, who will determine whether or not he is fit to play in the clash with Wales at the Millennium Stadium on Sunday week.

While the starting XV from the Scotland game are put through their paces at Carton House, the rest of the Irish panel have been released to their provinces for Magners League games at the weekend.

Leo Cullen and Jonathan Sexton will be available for Leinster’s clash with Scarlets, Tom Court and Paddy Wallace will be in the frame for Ulster’s meeting with Aironi, Sean Cronin has been included in the Connacht XV to face Treviso, while Peter Stringer and Denis Leamy have been named in the Munster squad that will face Edinburgh on Saturday.
