Bad news for UFC fans.
Donegal’s Joe Duffy has pulled out of this Saturday’s fight with Dustin Poirier after receiving a strike to the head in training this week that raised alarm bells.
Duffy suffered a ‘mild concussion’ that rules him out of competing in front of an Irish crowd this weekend. UFC have confirmed the bad news on Twitter.

Duffy vs Poirier was set to be the main event of the weekend. The new main event will be a three-round bout between Dublin’s Paddy Holohan and Louis Smolka.
Norman Parke of Northern Ireland has confirmed on Twitter that he was offered Duffy’s spot against Poirier but hasn’t yet confirmed that he will indeed take the Donegal man’s place.
