A hell of a game in Murrayfield.
Ireland have opened their Six Nations campaign with a defeat to Scotland in Murrayfield.
The Scots ran in three first half tries and Keith Earls touched down for Joe Schmidt’s side to leave it 21-8 at the break.
The mood on Twitter wasn’t good.
Bloody hell. Ireland so poor but Scotland full value for their scores. #SCOvIRE

A very disappointing first half for Ireland. They haven't been this poor in a long time. We need to have some second half now #COYBIG

Not sure Ireland have played as badly as that in any 40 mins of rugby in recent yrs! They can't be that bad 2nd half….can they? #6nations

Ireland started the second half well with Iain Henderson forcing his way over, Paddy Jackson added the extras. Jamie Heaslip and Rob Kearney went close before Jackson scored a try just after the hour mark.
Scotland kept their composure, stayed strong in defence and fought back with two penalties to win 27-22. Here’s the reaction.
That's the worst of a good test series!!

Scots deserved that. Ire very good for 30 mins but even in that period were wasteful. Lineout might have cost Ire 10/15 points #scovire

Fair play to Jackson though. He was so good. Ireland were just so clumsy. #IREvSCO

Brilliant match that. Scotland did well to come back strongly towards the end. Sexton's a huge miss for Ireland though. #SCOvIRE
