Merseyside’s red half haven’t taken this well.
When Jürgen Klopp replaced Brendan Rodgers, there was rampant talk of Liverpool’s Belgian goalkeeper being replaced by Timo Horn, or Barcelona’s Marc-Andre Ter Stegen.
Somehow, after several shaky performances under the new German coach, Mignolet has been rewarded with a five-year deal, believed to be worth almost £23 million pounds in total.
Liverpool fans have been left a bit baffled by the decision to show such faith in Mignolet, and by ‘a bit baffled’, we mean murderously angry.
