TWEETS: Twitter reacted very positively to the amazing stories of two jockeys on the Late Late Show

Such brave men

Alan Loughnane

Incase you missed the Late Late Show last night, you missed out on a great show…

Robbie MacNamara and Brian Twomey are two jockeys who suffered life changing falls which left them with severe injuries.

MacNamara was left with no feeling in his legs as well as eight broken ribs, six cracked vertebrae, a collapsed lung and internal bleeding when the horse he was riding fell at the fourth last in Wexford in April.

Twomey was the victim of a fall back in 2013 in a handicap hurdle in Perth where medics said he died for six seconds. He would have part of his skull removed to release the pressure on his brain.

Last night, the pair appeared on the Late Late Show to tell their amazing stories and tell the public how they’re both returning to the sport they love.

Twomey is back working as a jockey and Robbie McNamara intends to start training horses in a couple of years after he spends some time studying the craft.

Understandably the country was shocked and awed by what the two courageous men had been through and their positive attitude despite it all.

We wish the two of them the best of luck in the future.
