This proves that MMA is fast becoming one of the most popular sports in the country…

Conor McGregor is taking the world by storm and the people of Ireland have got behind him in a huge way this morning.  UFC fans hoovered up between and 8,000 and 9,000 tickets in less than three minutes this morning to make UFC Dublin a complete sell-out and those figures don’t include the pre-sale orders that went on Wednesday.

The headline match is McGregor’s meeting with Brazilian fighter Diego Brandao, who’s been drafted in as a late replacement for the injured Cole Miller.

Dubliner Neil Seery is also on the card so there’s loads of Irish interest for the hometown crowd while Gunnar Nelson, who trains with Dublin gym SBG, is also in action.
