Full details of a massive UFC event in Ireland later this year will be announced on July 1st.

UFC executive Dave Allen has said that plans are in place and they will be made known to the public the week after next, and just ten days before Conor McGregor takes on Jose Aldo in the biggest fight of the year.

“The date is set, and we’ll announce details on July 1,” Allen said on Saturday after UFC Fight Night 69, which took place at O2 World Berlin in Germany.

McGregor is likely to be involved.

His last fight in Dublin, which took place last summer, saw him annihilate Diego Brandao in front of his home fans. He has since gone on to beat both Dustin Poirier and Dennis Siver to set up the clash with Aldo in Las Vegas on July 11th.

Cathal Pendred could also headline the event but far more likely – regardless of the result in July – is a rematch between McGregor and Aldo.

Croker, anyone?
