Video: A lesson in how not to finish a one-on-one from the German cup last night

Lithuanian international winger Arvydas Novikovas won't want to see this again.

Lithuanian international winger Arvydas Novikovas won’t want to see this again.

Two of the Bundesliga new boys, RB Leipzig and Erzgebirge Aue, met in the German Cup last night.

Aue were leading 1-0 away to Leipzig when they hit Leipzig on a counter attack. Their winger, former Hearts player Arvydas Novikovas, received the ball on the half-way line and ran into the opposition half unopposed.

With only the ‘keeper to beat and with the chance to put his side firmly in the driving seat, he did this…

To compound the miss, Leipzig equalised in the last minute and forced the game into extra-time, where they eventually ran out 3-1 winners.

Poor old Arvydas must be feeling a little bit sheepish this morning.
