Disturbing scenes in Equatorial Guinea this evening.

The African Cup of Nations semi-final meeting between Equatorial Guinea and Ghana had to be temporarily brought to a halt this evening amid shocking scenes of crowd trouble in Malabo.

Ghana were leading the game 3-0 when the referee brought the game to a halt, as missiles were being thrown onto the pitch and there was considerable unrest amongst the fans in the crowd.

The Ghana fans were eventually moved away from their designated area in the stadium for their own protection as police sought to restore calm.

Despite a police helicopter circling overhead, the game eventually resumed approximately 30 minutes after it was halted, with Ghana maintaining their 3-0 advantage to secure their place in final against the Ivory Coast on Sunday.
