With both sides winning their opening games and France surprisingly losing to Italy and Wales, the game today against England could potentially be not only a Grand Slam decider but a Championship defining game.
Nothing stokes the fires quite like a game with the Auld Enemy, but the historic fixture at Croke Park in 2007 was one that will never be forgotten by anyone who was lucky enough to witness it.
The passion, the respect, the performance, the atmosphere and most importantly, the emphatic result sent Martin Johnson and his team packing and restored Irish pride after an agonising home defeat to France in the first game at GAA HQ.
The video is an inspiring trip down memory lane and let’s hope our 2013 crop can similarly rise to the occasion.
