The result might not have gone Connacht’s way tonight but the crowd at the Sportsground were still happy to deliver fitting tributes to the departing Eric Elwood, Johnny O’Connor and Adrian Flavin.
The Westerners lost out to a Glasgow side who will play Leinster in the semi-final next weekend but regardless of what happened on the pitch, tonight was always going to be a special occasion given it was Eric Elwood’s last game as Connacht coach and it was also the last time O’Connor and Flavin will pull on a green and black jersey.

All three were given a brilliant reception with O’Connor receiving a rousing ovation (see above) when he left the field early in the second half, while there were some lovely pictures taken after the game that Elwood, O’Connor and Flavin will look back on fondly in years to come.

An emotional farewell at the Sportsground and a thoroughly deserved tribute for three brilliant servants of Connacht over the years.
