What do you do if your Formula 1 car starts to spin out of control? No problem, just flick it back the right way and drive on.
If you have seen the amazing documentary about Ayrton Senna, called Senna, you will have been stunned at the level of skill the Brazilian maser had behind the wheel.
It seems that his nephew Bruno is not too bad either. In today’s European Grand Prix the Williams driver was motoring along nicely midway through the race when he clipped Sauber’s Kamui Kobayashi. It was hard to see who was at fault but the collision sent Senna spinning sideways down the track, with a corner approaching.
Rather than lose control, spin out, hit another car or any of the other things that could end his race, the 28-year-old managed to regain control and steer through the corner in an incredibly cool and smooth move.
Sadly for the Brazilian he was hit with a drive-through penalty for the brush with Kobayashi and he had to pit to get a new nose. Still, even if he fails to nab any points today, he deserves some applause at least for some fantastic car control.
