He’s probably the fastest man to ever play sevens rugby, but that didn’t stop a few of the Irish women’s rugby team from challenging him to a sprint in Moscow at the Rugby Sevens World Cup.
The Irish women’s rugby sevens team are looking to build on their Grand Slam success at the Sevens World Cup in Moscow, where YouTube sensation Carlin Isles will likely be the star of the show following his exploits at the grade in the last couple of years.
Before he can take on the rest of the world, however, he had to take on Nikki Caughey of the Irish women’s team in a race that, from what we can gather, was organised via Twitter, as is the style these days.
Considering that he can run the 100 metres in just over ten seconds flat, Nikki gave a pretty good account of herself but such was Isles’ momentum by the end of the race that there must have been a fear that he’d run straight over the railings and onto the bottom floor below.
He didn’t, thank God, but it certainly looked like great craic all round.
