Celtic manager Neil Lennon admits that he has taken on board lessons learned on and off the pitch last season and can’t wait for the new campaign to kick off.
Despite death threats, an attack on the pitch by a fan, and coming up just short of their arch rivals Rangers for the SPL title last season, Neil Lennon says he is more determined than ever to succeed as Celtic manager as he prepares for the kick-off of the SPL season away to Hibernian this Sunday.
Sectarian abuse hasn’t undermined his passion for the job that he says he wants to hold onto well into the future.
The Armagh native believes he has learned lessons on and off the pitch during his first full season in charge of the Glasgow giants, who last term were agonisingly close to their first title since 2008 only to be beaten by a point by Walter Smith’s Rangers, who walked away with the title in the veteran manager’s last season in charge.
Celtic fly into Ireland next weekend for the inaugural Dublin Super Cup at the Aviva Stadium, a competition which also features Inter Milan, Manchester City and an Airtricity Selection, something Lennon believes will also help ready them for their European campaign which he also wants to bear fruit.
Check out what Lennon had to say about the lessons he’s learned and his thoughts on the new season in the video above.
