Two counties that know each other all to well at this stage…

If Kerry/Tyrone was one of the most compelling GAA rivalries of recent times, Mayo and Dublin, who face off at Croker this Sunday in an All Ireland semi final, probably trumps it.

No matter how you square it, both of these teams know they have two titanic struggles against two top-class teams in store if they want to lift Sam Maguire on September 20th.

On August 27, 2006, the two teams faced off at Croke Park in another keenly anticipated semi final clash.

The game will be remembered for a brilliant last gasp score from the magician that is Ciarán McDonald, monster hits….
