“The place was gone cracked.”
Tipperary are not unaccustomed to success on the hurling field, but they had good reason to celebrate yesterday’s Munster Final win over Waterford.
It was their first Munster title in three years, but following the last one in 2012, they didn’t actually win a Championship game in the province until their victory over Limerick this year.
It was a victory that was celebrated heartily in the pubs of Thurles and particularly out the back of the Watermill pub, where a dancing fan led the many hordes in choruses of ‘The Roof is on Fire’ and ‘Follow the Leader’.
The JOE reader (who wished to remain anonymous) who sent us in the video said that “the place was gone cracked” and from the looks of things, it seems like he was spot on.
From a health and safety perspective, dancing on rooftops is not something to be encouraged, of course, but should Tipp prove a lot of people right and go all the way this year, it probably won’t be the last rooftop to be danced on before the season’s finished.
