Video: Did anyone see George North’s dad run onto the pitch to celebrate his son’s try?

Wales recorded a win in the French capital for the first time since the Grand Slam campaign of 2005 with a 16-6 win over a lacklustre home side. The game won’t live long in the memory, but North’s try was a well worked move and the Scarlet’s winger showed great skill and strength to touch down and set the men from the Valleys on their way to a famous win.

While North himself seemed cool about the important try, we did notice a man run onto the pitch to try and congratulate the winger on the score, before being ushered away by a steward. The player hardly even noticed the man’s efforts to hug him, but thanks to ScrumV we found out that man was in fact North senior.

No wonder he was so overjoyed. Now we know where George gets his pace from as his old fella showed the steward a clean set of heels to get to his son.

Thanks to Justin F and the British and Irish Lions Twitter account for the heads up.
