Video: England played Australia at Twickenham today, but the anthem singer still had time for Ireland’s Call

Always nice to hear an Irish song ringing out over the speakers in Twickenham.

Always nice to hear an Irish song ringing out over the speakers in Twickenham.

Few songs divide opinion in Ireland like Ireland’s Call; some people like it and a lot of people don’t.

That said, when the Irish rugby team play away from home it’s the only Irish anthem we get to hear so people’s opinion of the song might change when they’re trying to get geed up for games in venues like the Millennium Stadium, the Stade de France and Twickenham.

Ireland weren’t even playing today and it still got a rendition on the international rugby circuit as the anthem singer for the England v Australia game decided to tune up her vocal cords with a belting rendition in front of an empty Twickenham earlier this morning.

Pity there weren’t some of the home fans in the ground at the time; now that would have really riled them up.

Hat-tip to James Gallagher for sending this one our way
