Video: GAA player from Shane Long’s club in Tipp pens a cracking song about winning a Junior B title

The new 'Dancin' at the crossroads?'

Shane Long isn’t the only man that can hold a tune in Gortnahoe.

Shane Long is now well-known for his musical as well as his footballing skills, but it turns out there are quite a few lads from his neck of the woods with a few creative bones in their bodies.

You might remember Gortnahoe-Glengoole from a brilliant ‘Home to Hurl’ video we featured on the site before Christmas.

Today, a video has come to our attention of a Gortnahoe-Glengoole player celebrating a recent Junior B title with a song ode to the club located close to the Kilkenny border.

The player in question is TJ Mockler and after performing the song live for the first time at the club social on Saturday night, he broke out the guitar again in Prouts Bar on Sunday and gave it another whirl.

If the song sounds familiar, it’s because it has the air of ‘My Little Honda 50’ sung by Christy Moore amongst others over the years.

Safe to say they’ll be singing this in Gortnahoe-Glengoole for years to come.

Hat-tip to William Coleman for sending this one our way
