Regular followers of the Airtricity League will know that Greg Bolger of St. Patrick’s Athletic can mix it with the best players in the domestic league.
He doesn’t score a whole lot of goals but when they do they tend to be memorable efforts.
His goal against Sligo to help Pat’s win the league in 2013 was something special, but he topped it last night with a ridiculous effort from all of 45 yards in a 2-0 victory over Derry City at Richmond Park.
Nayim? Beckham? No matter what long-range goal you compare it to, it’ll sit easily alongside it.
What a hit.
