How the hell did he do that?
It’s hard to think of a name in the sporting world that rolls off the tongue as easily as Iran’s Iman Sadeghikoukandeh, but the young wrestler came with a move that appeared, to the untrained eye at least, as ridiculously hard to pull off as his name is to spell during the FILA Junior World Championships in Mumbai this week.
Going up against the equally easy to pronounce Rashidov Gadzhimurad of Russia, Sadeghikoukandeh (we’re just going to call him Iman from here on out) appeared to be in big trouble as Gadzhimurad had a hold of his left leg and appeared to be in complete control, only for Iman to somehow lift his standing right leg over Gadzhimurad’s head, flip him over, take him down and win the contest.
The athleticism and strength on display here is quite something and it’ll come as a little surprise to know that Iman went onto win the gold medal.
Remember the name folks… well, remember his first name at least.
