Video: Irish man pulls off excellent Mícheál Ó Muircheartaigh impersonation in the US

"It's high, it's high, it's over the bar!"

Alan Loughnane

This is very, very well done…

Last year we had Eddie Hoare from Galway doing a great impression of the iconic commentator and now we have this fantastic effort Ciaran ‘Sod’ Daly from Cloghan, Co Offaly.

Mícheál will always have a place in our hearts with his witticisms and the characteristic tone to his voice and Daly has it down to a tee.

You’ll spot former Galway footballer Michael Donnellan in the video and Daly makes reference to his big run in ’98 All-Ireland Football Final in great style.

This is just one of his great contributions that day…

Donnellan is also joined by Michael Cloherty who won an All-Ireland alongside him in ’98 and former Offaly star Colm Quinn.

The group were over for a wedding in Philadelphia when the video was taken.

When you take into account that a lot of what Daly is saying is true, this video gets even funnier.

Brisbane to New York to Philadelphia to Tullamore and this is one of the funniest bits !!! We were on the Rocky Steps in Philly and Ciaran Sod Daly broke out in tune…. Mícheál Ó Muircheartaigh will never be retired… Unrehearsed…..have a listen….
